CortovaDriveTX: Six Hours That Actually Make You a Driver

What it is

CortovaDriveTX is the state-mandated six-hour adult driver education course for Texans aged 18–24 (and available to 25+) who need it to get their first driver license. It ends with the DPS-required exam, and your certificate is reported so you can head to the DPS with everything in order.

The six-hour problem

Every adult driver-ed course is six hours — the state requires it. What differs is what those six hours are made of. The market leaders fill them with 2005-era stock footage, screens of text with a lock-out timer, and quizzes about the text you just scrolled past. Six hours of your life, and you come out knowing how to click "Next."

How CortovaDriveTX fills six hours

• Cinematic driving video — real situations: merging, hydroplaning, intersections at night, the truck's blind spot
• Graphical physics — following distance, stopping distance, and impact force shown, not recited
• Texas-specific law taught through scenarios: right-of-way, DWI thresholds, the Move Over/Slow Down law
• Built-in exam — pass it here; no separate DPS knowledge test needed

Our TDLR driver education provider application was filed in August 2026 and is pending approval. The course itself is complete. When TDLR approves, this page flips to enrollment.
