CortovaVoltPrep: Electrician Exam Prep, Rebuilt

What it is

CortovaVoltPrep is exam preparation for electrician licensing candidates — journeyman and master — in every US state and territory that licenses on NEC 2023 or NEC 2026. It is built around the skill the exam actually measures: navigating the National Electrical Code under time pressure. It pairs 500+ original NEC-referenced practice items — organised into two sections, Technical Knowledge and Calculations, the same split Texas uses in its TDLR blueprint — with a Study Lab of code-navigation drills, worked calculations, and flashcards, four narrated 3D explainers, and a clear route through the exam process itself. It covers journeyman, master, and residential wireman.

It teaches both NEC 2023 and NEC 2026 with a toggle, so you study the edition your state enforces. Pick your state in the app and it puts you on the right code; if your state's adoption is not confirmed, the app tells you to check your state board. Texas example: TDLR exams reference NEC 2026 from September 1, 2026. The interface runs in 10 languages, and the question bank is also available in Spanish.

Why most exam prep fails electricians

The popular prep products are question dumps: hundreds of items with an answer key and no teaching. Memorize the answers, and the real exam — which pulls fresh questions from the same code text — punishes you for it. Others are recorded seminars: hours of a camera pointed at a whiteboard.

Passing isn't about memorizing answers. It's about knowing where the Code keeps things and how to get there fast. That's a trainable skill, and almost nobody trains it.
